MaxiDerm EFA®
Omega 3,6&9 for Dogs Dry Itchy Skin
Fish Oil ~ Flaxseed Oil ~ Sunflower Oil
A sleek, glossy shine is more than just a sign of a well-groomed dog – it is a reflection of the overall health of his skin and coat. MaxiDerm EFA provides your dog with the Essential Fatty Acids needed for optimal skin and coat health. We use a scientific blend of cold pressed flaxseed oil, fresh sunflower oil and high-quality fish oil. We then add lecithin, biotin, antioxidants and B-vitamins. We think you’ll find this unique approach surpasses other similar products. If your dog is suffering from skin allergies, dryness or itchy skin, MaxiDerm can help.
Research has shown that fatty acids play an instrumental role in keeping your dog’s skin and coat in top condition. Fatty acids are required to help heal and prevent dry, itchy skin, as well as to restore a healthy, radiant “show-ring” shine. Some fatty acids, such as Omega 9 fatty acids, can be created by the body from unsaturated fat. Other fatty acids, such as Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids are known as “essential” fatty acids which cannot be produced by the body, and need to be obtained through diet and supplementation. MaxiDerm EFA’s comprehensive formula contains all three of these fatty acids (Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9).*
Comparatively speaking, MaxiDerm EFA provides substantially more for your dog than other basic fish oil supplements – we believe in providing a complete formula so your dog can receive the maximum benefits needed for the overall health of his skin and coat. MaxiDerm EFA is scientifically formulated with three valuable sources of essential fatty acids: fish oil, flaxseed oil and sunflower oil.
Additionally, we use cold pressed technology by processing the ingredients under moderately-high pressures and very low temperatures during extraction and bottling to help prevent oxidation. The resulting extracted ingredients deliver high nutritional value while retaining their natural flavor characteristics and optimal nutritional properties.
Notes: * Omega 3 fatty acids include alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA); Omega 6 fatty acids include linoleic acid (LA), gamma linolenic acid (GLA), dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA) and arachidonic acid (AA). These essential fatty acids can be commonly found in a variety of marine and plant sources.
The oil extracted from naturally grown flaxseed is great for dogs, as it is a valuable source of all three Omega fatty acids (Omega 3, 6 and 9); the fish oil selected specifically for MaxiDerm EFA provides your dog with a rich source of EPA and DHA, which is easily assimilated by the body; and the sunflower oil used is rich in Omega 6 fatty acids, and is also an excellent source for beta-carotene (known for its antioxidant properties that can be beneficial to the appearance and health of your dog’s skin and coat). Our comprehensive formula also includes borage seed oil (rich in Omega 6 fatty acids) as well as lecithin, biotin, antioxidants and B-vitamins.

What Others Are Saying:
I’ve been using MaxiDerm EFA for a few months and I love the results! My lab is a very active dog, and spends most of her days outdoors in the sun and elements. I love the liquid, because I can measure how much I want to give to her. I just pour a little over her food and she loves the taste! I can’t believe the shine and glow in her coat, and how healthy her skin is. Dori – Palm Desert
My dog’s coat has always been thick and coarse, and she had problems with shedding. My groomer recommended MaxiDerm EFA and I couldn’t believe the difference! She now has a sleek shiny coat and sheds evenly. An additional benefit is that she’s always been a picky eater and I had to coax her to eat her food. Now I just pour the MaxiDerm EFA on her dry food and she eats every last bit! I LOVE this product! Lisa – Southern California
I really like the Maxiderm EFA capsules. My dog seems to have stopped her constant scratching since I started to give it to them. Their coats looks great…so many people comment on it. Also surprising i haven’t had to give her an allergy shot in almost a month. Annie – Washington
Our 8 yr old German Shepherd has been suffering from skin issues for 2 years now. We have spent hundreds on vet bills, injections, creams, lotions, supplements, changes in foods, flea meds, etc with no success. Her skin was rough, inflamed, scaly and had sores. I decided to try the Maxiderm – after just two weeks I noticed significant changes. She had begun to grow hair where she hasn’t had it for over a year. I would recommend this to anyone whose dog has skin issues. Fran S. – Denver
Dog Skin and Coat Ingredient Glossary:
Fish Oil
High in Omega 3 type fatty acids our 18%EPA/12%DHA fish oil is readily digested by dogs and the 3 to 2 ratio is recommended for maximum support. Omega 3 fatty acids from cold water fish oil has been used for some time as a supplement to aid in treating dry skin in dogs and cats. Recent research is showing promising signs of anti-inflammatory properties as well which may well support joint function.
Flaxseed Oil
Flaxseed oil comes from the seeds of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum, L.) and is a rich source of the essential fatty acids (EAs) alpha-linoleic acid, an Omega 3, and linoleic acid, an Omega 6, essential for healthy skin and coat. Flaxseed oil contains the essential fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which the body converts into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil.
Lecithin
Lecithin is the common name for a series of related compounds called phosphatidylcholines. Lecithin is a phospholipid mixture of phosphatides combined with various other substances, including Omega fatty acids and carbohydrates. Lecithin originated from the Greek “Lekithos,” referring to egg yolk, as it is a common compound found in cells of all living organisms and is required for proper biological function.
Sunflower Oil
Sunflower oil is rich in Omega 6 fatty acids, vitamin E, choline and phenolic acids. Sunflower oil has cardiovascular protective effects because of the mono- and polyunsaturated fat mixture. Sunflower oil is best known for being rich in linoleic, oleic acid and the antioxidant vitamin E according to National Sunflower Association.
Vitamin B Complex
Vitamin B Complex is a group of B vitamins that are necessary for healthy growth and development. These B vitamins include Vitamin B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (niacin), Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), Vitamin B7 (biotin), Vitamin B9 (folic acid) and Vitamin B12 (cobalamin).
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes the free radicals in the body that cause tissue and cellular damage. Studies show that Vitamin E promotes DNA repair and immune activity, and may prevent or delay some diseases. Vitamin E also boosts the body’s immune system ability to fight off infectious diseases and is important for red blood cell formation.
Zinc
Zinc is an important mineral that plays a vital role in protein synthesis and helps in regulation of the cells production in the immune system of the body. Zinc is involved in healthy skin and connective tissue formation, as well as antioxidant protection.
